Kansas Declares English as Official Language

On May 11, 2007, Governor Kathleen Sebelius stayed true to her word, and signed H.B. 2140 into law, making Kansas the newest state to adopt English as its official language. The bill had previously passed the House and Senate by overwhelming bi-partisan margins of 114-7 and 32-8, respectively.
